Laying in a silage pit allows reducing feed losses up to 3%. Laying in a pile, you lose about 15-20% of the mass. To minimize the losses, we recommend using the following specialized attachments:
-
Silage spreader. Performs the distribution and compaction, leveling and compression, and compaction. Silage is a mass that should be homogeneous, and the spreader allows to level it without the involvement of heavy tractors.
-
Silage packer is characterized by a high unit pressure, which allows increasing the degree of compaction (density) of the forage, and therefore to reduce the number of tractor passes. Compaction of the silage is done to maximize the displacement of oxygen, achieve optimal density and preserve the microflora of the feed for a long time.
- Silage blade. Additional attachments designed for moving large volumes of silage and haylage, and aggregated with both a tractor and wheel loader. The 5-position hydraulic blade works with pulp and a wide variety of forages.
- Silage forks. Traditional silage harvesting could be greatly simplified by the use of folding forks with extra strong tines to prevent air pockets. The lateral fork extensions provide the necessary distribution and compaction of the material along the silage pit.
All above-mentioned attachment is manufactured by A.TOM and successfully works in Ukrainian farms. Also, agricultural manufacturers have the opportunity to buy equipment for silage under the state compensation program and receive up to 40% of equipment cost.
Lossless and Waste-Free: Equipment Quality Criteria
Silage equipment has the following qualities:
- Reliability. Any cutting unit could be adapted for daily use, it means a robust design and high-performance hydraulics.
- Versatility. Shear grabs, blades, and rakes could be adapted to work with different feeds.
- Functionality. The attachments for silage are designed to maintain its structure of feed, making a uniform cut while maintaining density to prevent reheating.
TM "A.TOM" offers silage blades and cutters, which have been successfully tested in Ukrainian farms. Silage rotor bucket is the most popular model. Its main advantage is a perfect cut without loosening, which allows maintaining the integrity of the silage "wall". In addition, it can be aggregated with both telehandlers and wheel loaders.
