The most efficient slurry application technology in the world is a drag hose system based on the use of super flexible hoses and equipment A.TOM which allows pumping of liquid manure from the lagoons into the fields up to 10 km.
In A.TOM drag hose systems, we decided to use heavy duty hoses manufactured by Mandals (Norway). This choice is made due to the fact that Mandals is a leader in the production of lay-flat hoses suitable for high volume, high pressure, constant and variable liquid flow. Hoses have a variety of applications. For decades of application in a variety of industries, such as fire fighting, agriculture, and construction, Mandals lay-flat hoses offer flexible, mobile and easy-to-use alternatives to rigid pipelines, providing an economical and environmentally friendly solution. Mandals is known for controlling every process involved in making hoses. Among which are the following:
Twisting of yarn
This is the first key step. Using the highest quality raw materials, calculating the right number of fibers and determining the right twisting ratio.
Weaving the jackets
All jackets are woven on Mandals patented circular weaving looms which are preferred globally by 9 out of 10 hose manufacturers. Looms are constantly upgraded to meet demands in the hose market. Mandals focus especially on a 100% uniform weave with uniform tension on both weft and wrap to prevent diameter variations.
Extrusion is made simultaneously inside and outside of the weave which ensures that the extruded material is strongly bonded through the textile. The material used is either rubber which gives a very flexible hose or thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) which gives four times higher abrasion resistance compared to rubber.
TPU hoses are processed in order to set the correct and permanent diameter while our rubber hoses are vulcanized to complete the hardening process. The final step for all hoses is the hydro testing and a full manual inspection.
